David Shannon, PhD from Auburn University, Jessica Bucholz, PhD from Tusculum University and Heather Dunham, PhD from Clemson University will be our panelists for this webinar.
Dr. David Shannon is Professor Emeritus from Auburn University where he taught graduate courses in education research and evaluation for 34 years. His research interests have been focused on issues related to quantitative research methods, program evaluation, and broadening participation in the STEM disciplines. He has research publications in top educational research and evaluation professional journals, and he has served as the lead researcher, evaluator, or investigator for over 30 funded projects while at Auburn. He served as the regional editor of Educational Research and Evaluation and on the editorial boards of several other journals and is the past-President of the Eastern Educational Research Association. He currently serves as Director of Research for the Strengthening Pathways and Research Knowledge in STEM (SPARK STEM Institute) at Auburn University. In his current role, he serves as co-PI or lead researcher on several NSF-funded projects.
Jessica Bucholz is an associate professor and program coordinator of special education at Tusculum University. Her research interests include fostering reflective practice among preservice teachers and exploring effective instructional strategies tailored for individuals with intellectual disability.
Heather Dunham is an assistant professor of literacy at Clemson University. Her research interests include literacy teacher preparation and culturally sustaining literacy practices.

Meet the Panelists

William (Willy) Williams is Professor of Education at Concord University. Willy taught English in Georgia and Alaska. He teaches Literacy, Foundations, and Research courses at Concord University. He has presented at the American Education Research Association (AERA), the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the Eastern Educational Research Association (EERA), the Intentional Society for the Exploration of Teaching and Learning (ISETL), the Atlantic Marketing Conference (AtMC), and sundry other conferences. He served as Faculty Assembly President for Concord for four years and taken on other leadership roles. Currently Willy is President Elect/Conference Chair of the Eastern Educational Research Association.

Meet the Panelists
​
P. Mark Taylor is in his first year in the department of Learning and Leadership at the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga. Prior to this, Dr. Taylor taught for thirteen years at Carson-Newman University. His research includes doctoral programs, professional development, and learning and teaching of mathematics.
​
Kenda Grover is an associate professor in the Adult and Lifelong Learning program at the University of Arkansas. She earned her Ed.D. in Adult Education from the University of Arkansas, an M.S. in Counseling Psychology, a B.A. in Psychology from Northeastern State University, and an A.A. in Journalism from Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College. In addition to faculty responsibilities, Dr. Grover serves as the program coordinator for the ADLL Master’s program. She is a member of the American Association for Adult and Continuing Education (AAACE), where she served as conference chair in 2022, the Commission for Professors of Adult Education (CPAE), and she currently serves as President of the Eastern Educational Research Association (EERA).
McKenzie Brittain is an Assistant Professor in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the Marshall University Graduate College, and Coordinator of the Graduate Mathematics Education Programs for the College of Education and Professional Development. McKenzie currently serves as the Director of Sponsorship, Marketing, and University Relations for the Eastern Educational Research Association.

Emily Howell is a faculty member in literacy at Clemson University. Emily has taught English and writing at the secondary and collegiate level and currently teaches pre-service teachers and graduate students in education. Her research interests include multiliteracies, adolescent literacy, writing instruction, multilingual learners, and digital tools. Emily approaches research through partnerships with teachers using methodologies such as design-based research. Her research has been published in journals such as Reading Research Quarterly, Journal of Literacy Research, The Reading Teacher, and Professional Development in Education. Emily is currently the Co- Principal Investigator on two large U.S. Department of Education grants developing school district capacity to support multilingual learners.

McKenzie Brittain is an Assistant Professor in the Curriculum and Instruction Department at the Marshall University Graduate College, and Coordinator of the Graduate Mathematics Education Programs for the College of Education and Professional Development.
